Having spent the majority of my adult life working in the social care sector. I have found that counselling and Psychotherapy is really where I feel I belong.
I appreciate that making the first step towards contacting a counsellor can be daunting and incredibly brave. It’s really important that you find a counsellor who you feel you ‘click with’, after all you may be sharing some deep and personal emotions and stories with them.
I always ask to have an initial phone call before any session is booked, mainly to see if we would be a good fit and to find out what you are looking for an expecting from our sessions.
Counselling can help us to make sense of things. I find it an opportunity to look at pattern in your life and how you respond to things. Being very passionate about my work, I truly believe that talking therapies can have a profound effect on a person’s abilities to heal, develop and move forward.
In my experience I have found that using various method of expression and creativity can be hugely beneficial to mental well being and can powerfully compliment talking therapies. Therefore I have trained to be comfortable and competent to incorporate this into my practice.
I am a LGBTQIA+ and HAES friendly practitioner.
I have also gained a certificate in Integrative Creative Supervision and work with counsellors to look at and explore their practice in a creative way. I find this to be incredibly helpful and enlightening in my own practice and am delighted to be able to bring this to other therapists/counsellors.
